All Grown Up!

Learning a skill. Solving a problem. Helping a neighbor. That’s what it’s all about! 🐝🛠️Students in Mr. Commander’s Trade Skills class at Elysian Fields Middle School recently put their classroom learning into action by repairing a broken lawn mower that was headed for the trash.

While learning the basics of small-engine repair, the students worked together to get the mower back up and running. But the lesson didn’t end when the engine started! Once the mower was operational, the class took a field trip and donated it to a community member in need.

It’s a great example of how hands-on learning can teach much more than a technical skill. Our students had the opportunity to problem-solve, work together, and experience firsthand the value of using their abilities to serve others.
